City of West Palm Beach Invites Residents to Attend Broadway Zoning Revisions Presentation
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — The City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is pleased to invite residents to an important presentation on the proposed revisions to the zoning regulations for Broadway Boulevard. The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Manatee Lagoon, 6000 N. Flagler Drive. Parking will be available onsite.
This informative session will feature the City’s consultants, Dover Kohl & Partners Town Planning, who will provide details on the proposed changes, shaped by the valuable comments and ideas collected during previous workshops and community meetings that took place back in 2023.
Christopher Roog, executive director of the CRA, emphasized the significance of community engagement in the zoning revision process, stating, “This is a crucial opportunity for residents and property owners to provide feedback on the proposed regulations. The proposed changes to Broadway Boulevard aim not only to revitalize this key corridor but also to ensure that the development aligns with the needs and aspirations of our community.”
Focus Area
The proposed zoning revisions will focus on properties facing Broadway Boulevard from 24th Street to 59th Street. This redevelopment study aims to create a predictable urban corridor that enhances the vibrancy of the adjacent Northwood Business District, preserves the character of nearby residential properties, encourages the historic preservation of significant structures, and promotes transit-oriented development for a more livable environment.
Why Attend?
This presentation offers a unique opportunity for community members to gain insight into the proposed changes to the zoning code and to provide additional feedback before the draft is reviewed by the City’s Planning Board on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024. Participants will learn how their input has directly influenced the development of these revisions.
