Mandel Public Library to Host Its 2nd Annual Community Resource Marketplace Event

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — In an effort to raise public awareness of available resources and social services in the area, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach will host its 2nd Annual Community Resource Marketplace event on Thursday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Twice the size of last year’s event, nearly two dozen social service providers have signed on and look forward to sharing resources for children, families, seniors, veterans, and jobseekers. This half-day event will take place on the third floor of the library in the auditorium and in the adjacent meeting rooms. The event and all services rendered that day are open to all members of the public.

“This is an opportunity for the library to bring much-needed services to our residents and to raise awareness of our community’s resources,” said Library Director Lisa Hathaway.

This year’s participating organizations include the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, the Area Agency on Aging, Career Connections/Jewish Family Services, the Drowning Prevention Coalition, NAMI, the HUB Community Recovery Center, Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies, Boys Town, the American Heart Association, Stand Down for Veterans, Feeding South Florida, CHANGE My Community, the League of Women Voters, the Coalition for Independent Living Options, DebtHelper.Com, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Rural Legal Aid Society, WHEN of PBC, the Unspoken Belle Foundation, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast, and the West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability.

Programming for this event is scheduled to coincide with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County’s bi-monthly Community ID drive, available for a $20 processing fee. Proof of identity and proof of residency are required.
