Celebrate Independence Day on the Waterfront!

One of South Florida's largest Independence Day celebrations, 4th on Flagler, will be held along the downtown Waterfront on Monday, July 4 from 6 - 10 p.m. Activities will include live entertainment, a Military Honor salute, refreshments and an 18-minute fireworks show.

SATURDAY, 7/2: BBQ, Brews & Blues at Heart & Soul Park!

In addition to delicious food and a BBQ competition, guests will enjoy performances by blues sensation Joey Gilmore and the dynamic Ike and Val Woods band.

Trash collection operations will remain on schedule.

2022 Chlorine Switch to Begin Thursday, July 7

The Department of Public Utilities will conduct a temporary switch from the current Chloramine disinfection to Free Chlorine disinfection of its water distribution beginning on Thursday, July 7-27, 2022. This is an annually-required, preventative maintenance process to help ensure quality and safety standards for your drinking water are maintained.

WPBFD Firefighters Honored for Their Efforts During Surfside Response

Mayor Keith James and Chief Diana Matty recognized department members with honorary helmet shields commemorating their commitment to search and rescue. K-9 Phire was also included in the recognition.

Public Input Sought: Tell Us What ARPA Funding Options Matter Most!

The City was allocated $24.5 million in ARPA funds and wants to hear from you on what priorities should be considered for allocation. Residents and business owners can access the online survey now through Friday, July 22.

Parks and Recreation Month Observed in July

During the city commission meeting on Monday, July 27, Mayor James proclaimed July 2022 as Parks and Recreation Month. This observance recognizes the contributions of parks and recreation programming toward community vibrancy and health.

Help Design Your Playground at George Petty Park

Renovations to the park will be financed by funds from the voter-approved 2020 Parks Bond. Community members are encouraged to provide their input on the proposed designs before entering the final selection phase.

The City's Small and Minority/Women Business COVID-19 Recovery Assistance Program is available for City-certified small businesses and minority/women business enterprises.

'Closing the Gap' on Black Homeownership

The City has teamed up with the Florida Housing Coalition as part of its "Closing the Gap" program. This campaign focuses on decreasing the racial gap in homeownership by revealing historical patterns of discrimination that led to this.

The City is asking Black homeowners, residents and stakeholders to share their experiences purchasing a home or their current journey toward homeownership. Click here to provide your input and to learn more about "Closing the Gap."

Freedom Week Sales Tax Holiday: Now Through July 7

The annual sales tax holiday runs through Thursday, July 7, 2022. During this time, tax is not due on the retail sale of admissions to various entertainment and recreational events and activities.
