Free Tree Giveaway on January 16th

Residents are invited to visit Heart and Soul Park, 825 N. Rosemary Avenue, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. to claim your tree. Help us reach our goal of planting 10,000 trees by 2025! Applications are required and will close on Friday, January 13 or until capacity is reached.

Community Garden Ribbon Cutting on January 18

In partnership with FAMU and HUD, the City will host a ribbon cutting for a community garden to benefit Coleman Park and surrounding communities. Part of the FAMU Cooperative Extension, this is the first of three gardens that will provide essential programs and fresh produce in an area considered a “food desert.”

City Hall, Mandel Library to Observe MLK Day

City Hall and the Mandel Library will be closed on Monday, January 16 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. City hall and the library will reopen on Tuesday, january 17 at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively. Sanitation Services will not be affected.

Pickleball Courts Open at Howard Park

Residents are invited to take advantage of the new pickleball courts available at Howard Park, 1302 Parker Avenue. Courts are open and registration can be done on-site!

Recent Policy Actions, Next City Commission Meeting

The next city commission meeting will be held on January 9, 5 p.m. at City Hall, 401 Clematis Street. Commission meetings are held every other Monday, except for holidays, and the public is encouraged to attend.
