DOUBLE EXPOSURE LANDS FLASHER JAIL; MUG SHOT
A 36-year-old undocumented Guatemalan was arrested a second time, almost one year to the day for the same crime - exposing himself in public after asking women to take his picture.
Just before 6 p.m. November 28, a Martin County woman and her 11-year-old daughter were taking pictures of holiday decorations in the 600 block of Clematis Street when they were approached by a man who asked to have his picture taken with his cell phone. Once the photo was taken, the man gestured below his waist, in an attempt to get the woman to look down. When she did, she saw the man’s pants down and opened, and his penis exposed.
The flasher was described as an Hispanic man with a black baseball cap, wearing all black clothing. Detectives in the West Palm Beach Police Department’s (WPBPD) Strategic Intelligence Center retrieved video of the suspect and his movements. A law enforcement bulletin was circulated, and just after 3 p.m. December 11, a WPBPD Entertainment District Unit officer patrolling Banyan Boulevard spotted Abraham Castro, of 914 8 St., West Palm Beach, on his bicycle, wearing the same clothing. He was interviewed at police headquarters, and after being advised of his Miranda Rights, Castro admitted to exposing himself to the woman and child, and was arrested. He was booked into the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Main Detention Center, charged with one count of lewd and lascivious behavior on a child under 16, one count of exposure of sex organs, and one count of failure to appear from the 2023 arrest. He is being held without bail on the latter charge. Castro was arrested December 23, 2023, after asking two women to take his picture where he exposed himself. Homeland Security Investigations has placed a detainer on Castro, who will be charged with illegal reentry after the West Palm Beach case concludes.
Anyone who may be a victim of Castro should call Detective Ryan Brust at (561) 822-1621. Tips may also be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County, at (800) 458-TIPS (8477).
