The City of West Palm Beach was awarded $150,000 from Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection’s Resilient Florida grant program to complete a Resilient Waterfront Adaptation Plan (RWAP). The RWAP will be consistent with the Florida Adaptation Planning Guidebook and will address current and future risks posed by climate change, including sea level rise, storm surge, and rainfall induced flooding along the entire waterfront. The RWAP will provide strategies for improving the resiliency of the waterfront area to ensure environmental sustainability, economic vitality, and safety for the City residents.
Public engagement will be vital to the success of this project. As the plan develops, the City will be seeking input from residents and businesses to help guide and prioritize the plan. We encourage all to participate and share your insights. In the meantime, spread the word about this important project.
