Chief Frank Adderley, WPBPD Announce Partnership with Genetec
A new program will afford businesses with compatible surveillance technology to share video with police.
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (November Dec 4, 2019) -- Chief Frank Adderley and the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) announce the department’s partnership with Genetec Inc., Community Connect,  the Genetec framework that facilitates public-private collaboration to improve public safety. Built on a foundation of technology that reinforces police and community partnerships, Community Connect will allow members of our business community to participate and work towards our common goal of building a safer city.
This program will afford businesses with compatible surveillance technology to share surveillance video with the West Palm Beach Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center during incidents to facilitate the investigative process and provide improved safety measures.
Downtown business owners can choose one of two options: “By Increasing situational awareness, Community Connect will help us build partnerships with the private sector to enhance quality of life, while keeping West Palm Beach a great place to live, work, and visit.” said Chief Frank Adderley.
The addition of Community Connect to our Real Time Crime Center compliments our existing Camera Registration Program, Ring Neighbors Law Enforcement Portal, and existing City cameras. This project is a public-private community partnership, blending a mix of real-time crime-fighting and community policing aimed at improving neighborhood safety, promoting the revitalization and growth of local businesses, and strengthening WPBPD’s efforts to deter, identify, and solve crimes. Utilizing  partner services, which  federate to the  Genetec Stratocast  cloud-based HD video monitoring service,  businesses with compatible technology will be able to share with law enforcement camera feeds from their property. This real-time monitoring capability will not only enhance officer safety, but expedite and simplify ensuing investigations.
