MAYOR JERI MUOIO ADVOCATES FOR WEST PALM BEACH IN TALLAHASSEE
The 2019 Florida legislative session is scheduled to start on March 5, 2019
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (February 6, 2019) -- West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio traveled to Tallahassee on February 4-6, 2019 and, with other City representatives, met with state lawmakers and officials to draw their attention to issues that are important to the City of West Palm Beach.
The City’s legislative agenda includes (but is not limited to):
  • Funds to better equip our first responders and better respond to critical incidents;
  • Protection of critical funds for affordable housing and homeless populations;
  • Stronger protection of our drinking water;
  • Improved safety/infrastructure for streets in our North End;
  • Support for Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRAs) to continue their revitalization efforts;
  • Protection of home rule-- the City’s ability to make tailored decisions for our community.
Mayor met with:
  • State Sen. Bobby Powell, District 30
  • State Rep. Matt Willhite, District 86
  • State Rep. David Silvers, District 87
  • State Rep. Mike Caruso, District 89
  • Representatives from the Office of Gov. Ron DeSantis.
