WHAT: Ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate Mary Brandon Park playground replacement and park improvements.
Project Highlights: Two new playgrounds were purchased and installed. They are now open to the public and feature a rubber safety surface, shade coverings and swings. A few other park projects were completed and include the resurfacing of the basketball courts, restriping of the parking lot, and a new entry gate.
Background: In FY 2018-2019, $280,000 was designated to capital park improvements for Mary Brandon Park from the City’s Public Works Bond Fund. These funds were allocated primarily to replace the two playgrounds at the park that were removed in 2018 due to their condition of disrepair.
