State Ethics Commission Clears Mayor James
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (October 29, 2019)—The State of Florida Commission on Ethics has found no probable cause that Mayor Keith A. James violated Sections 112.313(2), 112.313(4), 112.313(6), 112.313(7)(a), 112.3148(3), 112.3148(4), and 112.3148(8)(a). The Commission looked into the allegations, after a complaint was made by a political operative. Previously, the same complaint was also reviewed by the Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics, which cleared Mayor James.
“We never felt we violated any rules, and I am glad to see the Commission on Ethics agreed,” said Mayor James. “It’s unfortunate that a baseless, political claim can get so much attention. I am grateful that the Florida Commission on Ethics has agreed that I did not act in an unethical manner.”
