Chief Frank Adderley, WPBPD Announce Partnership with Ring Neighbor's Portal

Chief Frank Adderley and the West Palm Beach Police Department announced the department’s partnership with the Ring Neighbors portal. The Ring Neighbors portal is an extension of the Ring Neighbors app. The portal allows law enforcement to engage with the community.

Police may now post important information about crime and safety events and alerts in our neighborhoods. The agency may now view and comment on public posts as a verified law enforcement officer. WPBPD may also ask for help on active investigations by submitting requests for video records.

“The Neighbors portal will help us to share important crime and safety information to keep residents informed,” said Chief Adderley. “Residents using the Ring app can share any non-emergency information that they think will help make our community even safer."

West Palm Beach Fire Department to Promote Fire Prevention Week, October 6 - 12, 2019

During the week of October 6 - 12, 2019, the West Palm Beach Fire Department will team up with the National Fire Protection Association to promote Fire Prevention Week. The annual event focuses on public education to drastically reduce casualties caused by fire. The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” The goal of the campaign is to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

“While house fires have shown a decline over the last few years in West Palm Beach, we want to residents to know that in a typical house fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely once the smoke alarm sounds,” said Peter LeDuc, West Palm Beach Fire Marshal. “Practicing an escape plan can give people enough time to get out of a dangerous fire situation.”
