City Hall will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 3, 2018. There will be regular sanitation service on Monday.


WPB Earns 15 SUNsational Awards from the Florida Festivals & Events Association

West Palm Beach earns more than any other municipality; recognitions reaffirm City’s depth of creativity and variety of offerings


The Florida Festivals & Events Association (FFEA) recently announced the winners of its annual SUNsational Awards during its 24th annual convention and tradeshow. The program recognizes members' innovation, individuality and creative collaboration, and the City of West Palm Beach Community Events Division earned 15 awards for its signature programming. The City received more awards than any other municipality in Florida and was tied for first place in the state for the total number of awards with the South Florida Fair and Palm Beach County Expositions.

Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Cohen Pavilion 701 Okeechobee Blvdi n West Palm Beach. The City of West Palm Beach is a sponsor of the event.

  • Evernia St. between Rosemary Ave. and Quadrille Plaza (through September 7, 2018): Road closure for the removal and replacement of existing brick pavers, curbs and pavement overlay.
  • Olive Ave. between Clematis St. and Datura St.  (through November 2018): One of two northbound only lanes will be closed for alley restoration.
  • Cumberland Dr. (through January 2019): Reduced speeds on the eastbound and westbound lanes between Military Tr. and Village Blvd. for a road beautification and safety project.Flaggers will assist motorists
  • Clematis Streetscape Project (through October): 300 block of Clematis St. between S. Olive Ave. and S. Dixie Hwy. is closed to road traffic during construction. Pedestrian traffic will remain unaffected, and businesses will remain open.
  • Georgia Ave (until further notice): Local traffic only between Dobbins St. and Nottingham Blvd. for stormwater improvements. One lane northbound is open to traffic. Southbound traffic is detoured to Nottingham Blvd., Lake Ave. or Bradley St.
  • Briggs and Dobbins Streets (until further notice): Local traffic only between Garden Ave. and Georgia Ave. for stormwater improvements. Eastbound traffic on Briggs St. may turn right only at Georgia Ave. On-street parking is prohibited in the work zone.


  • Clematis by Night (September 6, 2018, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.): Road closures on N. & S. Clematis St. between Narcissus Ave. and Flagler Dr., and Narcissus Ave. between N. Clematis St. and Banyan Blvd.


  • Full closure: All Currie Park boat ramps at 2400 Flagler Drive are closed for repairs. Ramps will not be accessible during the construction period. Currie Park will remain open from sunrise to sunset.


  • Australian Ave. (approximately 1300 ft. north of N. Mangonia Dr.): Periodic northbound right lane closures for asphalt restoration.
  • Australian Ave. north of Okeechobee Blvd to Ware Dr. (periodic northbound right lane closures): One eastbound left turn lane closure.
  • Australian Ave. just south of 25th St. (periodic southbound lane closures until further notice) for utility valve replacement.
  • Congress Ave. north of Okeechobee Blvd. to Ware Dr. (periodic northbound and southbound lane closures, one eastbound left turn lane closure): Bridge removal/culvert installation at the “F” Canal.
  • Jog Rd. (periodic southbound left turn lane closures until further notice): Median landscaping and irrigation installation on Jog Rd. approximately 970 feet north of Ironhorse Blvd. to approximately 360 feet south of Beeline Highway.
  • N. Congress Ave. north of Presidential Way to Embassy Dr. (periodic northbound and southbound lane closures until further notice): Water main, driveway and median installation.
  • Roebuck Rd. (periodic westbound daytime lane closures until further notice): FPL pole installation east of Easley Dr. to Haverhill Rd. Westbound traffic will shift into one of the eastbound left turn lanes at the intersection of Haverhill Rd.
  • Haverhill Rd. north of Roebuck Rd. (periodic northbound lanes closures until further notice): FPL pole replacement.

  • Olive Ave. between Monroe Dr. and Edgewood Dr. (through Friday, September 7, 2018): One lane closed in each direction, intermittently, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for directional boring operations.
  • Norton Ave. at Forest Hill Blvd. (until further notice): Flaggers will direct traffic around the work area on Norton Ave. for water main replacement.
  • Military Tr. from Woodstock Dr. to Green Pine Blvd. (through Friday, September 21, 2018) will have the outside northbound lane closed, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to install a new turn lane.
  • Military Tr. between 45th St. and Shiloh Dr. (through Friday, September 28, 2018) will have the outside northbound lane closed, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for FPL pole replacement

2018 Holiday Sanitation Schedule 


There will be regular service on the following holidays:   

  • Columbus Day - October 8, 2018        
  • Veterans Day - November 12, 2018 

There will be NO service on the following holidays:

  • Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018; Residential garbage will resume on your next scheduled service day beginning 11/26/18. Recycling will resume on 11/29/18. Bulk/Yard and Commercial Divisions are one day behind regular schedule.
  • Christmas Day, December 25, 2018: Residential garbage will resume your next scheduled service day beginning 12/28/18. Recycling will resume on 1/1/19. Bulk/Yard and Commercial Divisions are one day behind regular schedule.
  • New Year's Day, January 1, 2019: Residential garbage will resume on your next scheduled service day beginning 1/4/19. Recycling will operate on normal schedule. Bulk/Yard and Commercial Divisions are one day behind regular schedule.
